America's Most Experienced Homicide Investigator on the Gilgo Case
Chief Joe Herbert breaks down where the case is likely headed
Folks, new podcast up now with one of the legends of the NYPD — Chief Joe Herbert.
Chief Herbert is likely the most experienced homicide investigator in the country, if not the world (and yes — I’m aware of the size of that statement).
He is also the man who chaired the task force that ultimately took down New York City’s version of the Zodiac killer in 1996 (yes, NYC had one as well — a copycat of the original California one).

It was a key insight by then-Sergeant Herbert that led to the arrest and confession of Heriberto Seda on multiple homicide and weapons charges.
To say that Chief Herbert has insights into the Gilgo case is the understatement of the year. Chris and I were thrilled to spend some time with this former colleague — a knowledgeable, gracious man.
If you are interested at all in the Gilgo case, or homicide investigations in general — I would urge you to do the same!
