Folks, your humble narrator will take a (small!) victory lap re: the blow up of the Hunter Biden plea deal. Readers of this space knew the day before the hearing that there was major turbulence in store for Team Hunter (which essentially comprises both his defense attorneys and DOJ).
Kudos to Judge Noreika for salvaging what’s left of the trust in our criminal justice system… (and in the heart of Biden Country, no less) (click below for my plea to the judge, a few hours before the hearing took place) (Judge: Stay strong!).
As of this writing, we still do not have any official release of the plea agreement or, more importantly, the diversion agreement on the gun charge (where the mysterious “extra paragraph” was hidden that cratered the deal).
But word comes now that NBC News has filed an official request for both documents — with the judge demanding to hear from both sides by Tuesday.
In light of the judge’s apparent mood: I suspect we see the docs this week. Which will be: enlightening… and damn embarrassing for these “prosecutors” (if they have any shame left).
Further: If this reporting is true… then we see an impeachment in the House. I see no other recourse.
The Hunter Chronicles - UPDATE
Folks, recall that Monday brings us the Devon Archer show. Devon, apparently sharing bunk beds in Witness Protection with Tony Bobulinski, will probably not spell the beginning of the end for Biden, Inc, as so many have predicted.
But to paraphrase Winston Churchill: Archer will likely spell the “end of the beginning.” Taken with the NBC request (above), we may well be entering a phase where even the mainstreams have to admit to the Bidens’ shenanigans.
How serious is it? Serious enough, apparently, for Biden’s DOJ to blatantly try to intimidate Archer on the eve of his testimony. The stakes are that high.
But let’s first award Superstar of the Week to Fox News reporter Mark Meredith, for this question to White House spokesperson KJP:
By locking the White House into the position that the President won’t pardon his son, Meredith put the Bidens in a profound bind.
Normally, walking out on a plea deal would mean a trial. And recall: Hunter has essentially admitted that he lied on his gun application form.
So: he’s de facto guilty on a felony that normally results in prison time.
Meaning: Hunter could realistically be looking at a trial, and jail — with the White House now on-record as saying he won’t be pardoned (thanks to Meredith).
Which leaves a petulant, resentful man-child who whined to his daughter that he had to “give half my salary to pop” and “pay for everything for this entire family for 30 years” feeling suddenly abandoned.
Right now, Hunter is potentially more dangerous to Joe Biden’s re-election hopes than Donald Trump has ever been.
Especially in light of reporting that his laptop contains contracts for all the deals the White House has been denying. Documents which are apparently encrypted… and for which he likely has the decryption password.
(Note: Click here for my discussion with Sean Hannity on the above — special thanks to Sean, his team, and the ever-gracious Gregg Jarrett).
(Late note: For some reason your humble narrator was trending Sunday, due to an interview with the gracious folks at Fox and Friends Sunday morning regarding all this. You never know what clicks for some reason…) (click the image for my [short] remarks):
Gilgo Killer In Court This Tuesday
Rex Heuermann, the alleged Long Island Serial Killer (LISK), is due in court Tuesday for a bail hearing.
He’s not getting bail, but it’s a chance for us to examine the two questions remaining in the case:
1. Did Heuermann kill the other victims found in Gilgo? In sum, 11 bodies were found. Shannon Gilbert, as we’ve written before, was likely an accidental drowning. Heuermann is charged in 3, and will likely be charged with the fourth, found nearby and bearing all his signatures. But what of the other 6?
If Heuermann didn’t kill these 6… then we’re being asked to believe that another killer — or killers — used the same remote dumping ground. Seems unlikely. So: while anything is possible, I believe he is likely responsible for 10 of the bodies out there.
2. Why wasn’t the case solved earlier? We’ve written about this before — it seems the Suffolk detectives had what they needed to wrap this up in 2010. But: Why is nobody questioning the FBI?
Recall, the story goes that the FBI and Suffolk PD had a contentious relationship during the earlier investigation, and that Suffolk would not let the FBI assist.
But in a recent televised interview, DA Tierney stated that in 2012, “an FBI agent drove the cell phone zones” where Heuermann had apparently used one of the victim’s phones, and “mapped” them. So the Bureau was involved as early as 2012.
Further, the FBI could have gained jurisdiction because the girls all apparently used craigslist — an internet forum — to book their clients. And several of the girls had in fact traveled across state lines to allegedly meet with Heuermann.
So, if the FBI wanted in on the LISK case from its inception: Why didn’t they just assert federal jurisdiction — and take it?
Wait, what?
Word comes now that Carlee Russell will be charged in her fake abduction case. Police lamented at a presser that they could only charge her with misdemeanors.
(Carlee Russell’s mugshot. She certainly looks remorseful.… Source: Hoover Police Dept.)
Well how about this? Charge her — but demand restitution. Her apparent stunt cost the Alabama taxpayers an estimated $100k.
Reports that she took in money from a GoFundMe appear inaccurate — so that money is unavailable (so get to work, Carlee).
But I have to ask: How could our media have believed this story?
The premise — that a human trafficking cartel trolled a toddler along the side of a highway so as to kidnap unsuspecting women — is ludicrous. Consider: What are the chances that such a thing would work smoothly? Especially because such a scenario is more likely to attract the police than random young women?
Of course, pointing this out would have made me the bad guy — racist, sexist, etc.
But this was b.s. from the get-go. I mean, please.
Just the latest from the media that believed… this.
And Finally… A Perp Who Knows His Place
I once read a description of police work as, “brute hilarity.” This pretty much captures that (click for the vid):
Some recycling isn’t worth it.
Watched the recycling bank robber video… I mean …..REALLY ! Those officers told the gentleman to “GET ON THe ground , MOTHER FUCKER !” and they also used the F word a couple of other times in the first 15 seconds of their interaction w/ the UNARMED NON-VIOLENT taxpaying citizen . CLEARLY THIS JUST Makes me THINK “Defund the police !”
Your call for Carlee Russell restitution makes a lot of sense and I also think there is plenty of precedent for it with that Jussie Smollett case from Chicago a few years back ….(, i think his Resto tab was approx $140k?) . And as long as we are reviewing alleged FALSE INCIDENT reports , was Tawana Brawley ever thusly adjudicated ?
