Donald Trump: Invite Alvin Bragg To The Inauguration!
Because nobody out there did more to help your campaign
Whether you buy into Alvin Bragg and Judge Juan Merchan’s theory of the 34-count felony prosecution of Donald Trump in New York — and if you do, we should talk — one thing has to be acknowledged: the entire affair was now been proven to be utterly illogical, purely ideological… and a boon to Donald Trump.
Speaking apolitically for the moment, I ask simply this: If the case was SO necessary — if Trump’s actions were so grievous — then how could a judge who found the case to be a legitimate application of the law sentence the offender to an “unconditional discharge”?
No jail time. No fines. No home detention. No probation.
On 34 felonies.
What a pantomime of justice. And what a strategic misfire by Bragg and Co.
(“…so vote for Donald Trump! I’m Alvin Bragg, and I approved this message.”)
At this point, that the cases against Donald Trump were ideologically driven is beyond question. Bragg’s case employed an unprecedented, circular theory of New York’s statutes to bump what would normally have been misdemeanors to felonies.
Nice job, Al. Perhaps more than any of the other shameful lawfare cases against Donald Trump, your idiotic waste of resources almost certainly backfired. The American public — including, by the way, members of your own office who will only speak off the record — saw the case as the perversion of law that it’s been proven to be.
In sum: Bragg deformed the law for political purposes; a partisan judge abetted it; it was so absurd that despite the cheerleading of our complicit media, the American people voiced their disapproval by electing Donald Trump.
So What Comes Next?
Bragg’s case will be overturned on appeal. That said, Trump will likely lose at the first stop, the Appellate Division in New York State. They’re Merchan’s fellow travelers. So the media gets their childish “convicted felon!” reference a little while longer.
(Dana Bash: "Convicted felon! Convicted felon! Convicted! Felon!” Leftist Tourette’s remains sad and incurable)
When the case goes up to the top court in New York State, the Court of Appeals, Trump has a good shot. The judges there have some more distance, and won’t want egg on their faces if/when the case goes on to SCOTUS — where the case will be consigned to the dust heap it deserves.
But in the meantime, it’s doubtful Alvin Bragg has learned anything. He is likely incapable of embarrassment or shame, being the sort of activist that remains indifferent to any contrary evidence.
His Day One Memo, his Trump case, his refusal to prosecute fare-beating and so helping to turn our subway system into an insane asylum… all should disqualify him from office. He has blatantly squandered the power he was granted by Manhattanites.
Where’s the accountability? You won’t find it on the New York Times editorial page, that’s for sure.
But Big Al’s actions redounded well beyond New York. Americans are essentially a fair-minded people — it’s in our DNA, going back to “all men are created equal” (a radical idea for the time). Al’s blatant misuse of our legal system created a national backlash that left outraged citizens with only one means of opining: vote Trump.
So congratulations, Al. Straight from Mar-a-lago.
Congrats To You Too, Joe!
An often-overlooked aspect of the Alvin Bragg debacle is the involvement of this man: Matthew Colangelo, formerly of Biden’s DOJ.
(Matthew Colangelo, hack-for-hire)
Formerly the third-highest ranking person in the Biden DOJ, Colangelo, who has also worked as a Democrat consultant, left that role in 2022 to join Alvin Bragg’s team prosecuting Trump.
Now readers, please understand: unless you are taking over the top spot — as in, running for District Attorney yourself — it is extremely rare for a federal prosecutor to leave that role for a state or local-level position.
Never mind when you are the number three guy.
Was Colangelo sent on a “mission” from the Biden administration? We’ll likely never know for sure. But the fact that he left one of the top positions in DOJ to specifically join the Trump prosecution speaks volumes — not only about the potential involvement of Biden himself, but also about the faith the Biden people had in Alvin Bragg’s ability to successfully bring the case in.
Didn’t work. Looks like the expertise of a DOJ that gave us Crossfire Hurricane, Jack Smith, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, James Comey, et al, wasn’t quite up to bringing in a case that wasn’t a complete laugher.
So congratulations also go out to Joe and Matt. Great job, guys. You likely delivered Pennsylvania and Wisconsin!
Take a bow.
California Fires
Donald Trump is having himself some year. It’s been widely covered, of course.
But that said: rarely does one see this level of vindication. Compare this (click the image for the video):

Then ask yourself: Would you vote for this man for president?
Gavin Newsom’s presidential aspirations just went up in smoke — figuratively and literally.
Buh-bye, Governor. You won’t get to do to us what you’ve done to California.
And One More Comparison….
While this is going on:
New York’s Mayor is doing this (click for the video if you’re a masochist):
Friends… I don’t even know what that means. How do you, “get your eyebrows done”?
Done how?
Priorities.
And finally….
Traveling on assignment for Fox and stopped off down south for the nice warm weather! Well, that worked out….
