Whether you’re a Trumper or not, one thing his continuing presence on the national stage has made clear: the left is happy to weaponize the legal system against its foes. Now, however, there’s a Republican who can take a meaningful stance against this.
Governor Brian Kemp – time to step up, buddy. However much you dislike Donald.
(Georgia Governor Brian Kemp)
Right now, Fani Willis and her ex, Nathan Wade, are on the ropes in the RICO case Willis launched against Trump and 18 others in Georgia state court. Recent filings by the defense contain evidence that both Willis and Wade appear to have lied on the stand when testifying that their relationship only started after Willis hired Wade in November of 2021.
Here’s the important part: that evidence is apparently based on subpoenas served in Wade’s (prior) divorce case. Which means it only contains contact information; that is, when the phones of the two lovebirds contacted each other, when and where those phones pinged nearby cell towers, and other such time and geolocation data.
This contact information apparently shows Willis and Wade contacting each other by texts and calls roughly 12,000 times in the first 11 months of 2021. As The New York Times attempts to defend this as being down to Wade’s role as a “mentor” to Willis, let’s recognize that this translates to over 35 contacts per day.
That’s a lot of mentoring.
Further, Wade’s phone reportedly appears in the area of Willis’s condo 35 times, at all hours of the night. Because of course all top prosecutors need “mentoring” in the wee wee hours…. (I think I feel a song coming on) (sung by Barry White).
But what does all this not show? Content. That is: what all the texts between them actually say. And the best way to get that at this stage is for Governor Kemp to either ask Georgia State Attorney General Chris Carr to investigate, or for Kemp to appoint a Georgia special prosecutor to launch an investigation of Willis and Wade for perjury and other violations.
The above evidence offers more than enough justification for such a probe. Willis and Wade’s denials – made under oath – look increasingly ludicrous. Further, Willis herself proclaimed on the stand that she kept cash leftover from her first election campaign in her closet. This alone appears to be an admission of campaign finance irregularities.
(Fulton County D.A. Fani Willis — who took the stand voluntarily!)
There are also statutes on the books in Georgia which Willis and Wade may well have talked themselves into, such as § 45-11-4. Unprofessional Conduct; Misdemeanor, conviction for which carries with it mandatory removal from office; or even § 45-11-2. Selling Office or Dividing Fees, a felony.
And recall: as lawyers, they’re both officers of the court, and subject to a heightened standard of ethics under their licenses. As such, an investigation of their behavior is already overdue.
A criminal investigation comes with special powers, including the ability to serve search warrants. A Georgia prosecutor’s first duty would be to serve such warrants on the phone companies that supplied the contact information that came to light in Wade’s divorce case, the results of which will show the actual verbiage of the voluminous texts the contacts refer to. Emails, too, and even voice messages could be obtained through this standard investigatory practice.
Let’s be frank: Is there any real doubt what that content will show?
Willis’s and Wade’s antics under oath have opened them up to a world of trouble, to include potential disbarment and criminal charges. All of it is deserved. If you are going to attempt to bring a case whose effect is tantamount to disenfranchising roughly half the electorate, you better be operating with clean hands.
Should such a probe demonstrate criminal exposure for these two prosecutors, at the least the case must then be removed from the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. As Willis and Wade will no doubt fight the charges against them, Willis may well retain her role as the top D.A. while doing so. Underlings in her office cannot therefore be expected to operate in an unbiased way, with their career prospects tied to a boss they may yet have to answer to.
Recently, even an avowed Trump adversary like Jeb Bush has weighed in on the injustice of the criminal justice system being weaponized against the former president.
Jeb Bush is right – this has to stop.
Governor Kemp, for the integrity of our criminal justice system and the upcoming election: Will you investigate Willis and Wade?
New York Justice – A National Punchline
This week the Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell publicly embarrassed Alvin Bragg and New York-style justice by stating publicly that she would not extradite a perp to New York County for a homicide case.
(Maricopa County DA Rachel Mitchell)
Raad Almansoori was arrested in Arizona after he robbed and stabbed two women in separate incidents. Previously, NYPD detectives had determined that Almansoori was the perp in a homicide that occurred in Manhattan on February 7th. In fact, Almansoori has been on a multi-state crime spree for years. He was already out on an open case in Orange County, Florida where he allegedly assaulted a woman and stole her car.
Rachel Mitchell’s claim that she is concerned about Almansoori’s release if given over to New York is probably a bit of hyperbole, but there is a chance. One never knows with Bragg and the irrational actors that sit on the bench in New York. Bragg could ask for bail instead of remand. He could offer an ankle bracelet instead of a Rikers Island stay.
(Raad Almansoori — subject of the prosecutorial tug-of-war)
Even if Bragg asks for remand, any New York judge could release him (unlikely) or impose bail. Let’s say Almansoori is given $500,000 bail. It’s a number he has no chance of posting. But there are plenty of left-wing nuts in this town looking to give criminals “another chance.” We wouldn’t put it past organizations such as The Bail Project or the Minnesota Freedom Fund that Vice President Kamala Harris has touted to swoop in and provide bail. Maybe she’ll ask George Soros to just write a check.
These are all extremely unlikely but not impossible. Why take the chance?
Now, Maricopa County is under no obligation to give up Almansoori at this time. Eventually, yes. But they can adjudicate their own case first — which likely won’t take long, as Almansoori allegedly confessed. Once that is done, Maricopa would then extradite him to New York under a detainer (because once he’s found guilty, even New York can’t free him).
Raad Almansoori seems like he is going to wind up emerging as a serial killer. Unfortunately, there’s a chance other women across the country will be discovered to have fallen victim to this twisted psychopath. Either way, let New York get in the back of the line. We are all safer that way.
The Original Border Crisis
For those who may not have visited the website, here’s the first two of four videos we’ve done on the Mariel Boat Lift of 1980. The vids are short and pretty self-explanatory:
As the old saying goes: Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.
I guess Biden, Blinken, and Mayorkas all slept through that particular class… (or that decade, actually).
Bullets
If there’s a cop out there who feels worse than this one likely does, I can’t imagine it. Three dead, including two innocents and the perp. Alas, the video speaks for itself.
The Philadelphia Sheriff just learned that artificial intelligence isn’t really a substitute for the real thing. D’oh!
Another parting gift from Andrew Cuomo, serial harasser: a reconfigured parole board, whose specialty is freeing cop killers. Thanks Andy! Please stay disappeared.
Speaking of fired Cuomos, here’s the himbo version. He used to play a journalist on tv — now he plays one on X. More New York “criminal justice” — and more proof that cases like Letitia James’s against Donald Trump are baked-into-the-cake.
Weed — it’s the new bootlegging. And of course, New York is on the side getting ripped off. Can our leaders get anything right?
As former Police Commissioner Ray Kelly sees it, the answer is: no. “There’s nobody in charge,” the quote goes. Actually, we might be better off were that the case.
And finally….
Who could find something like this entertaining?
Answer: Us.
Now THAT. Is a hockey fight!
Grand Jury action by independent prosecutor looking into criminal RICO investigation of the conspirators Willis & Wade
I have wondered the same thing. Since this is a state case, it seems he could stop this nonsense immediately.
