So comes word now that Fox News’s own Bret Baier will interview Kamala Harris this Wednesday, October 16th, at 6pm EST. Big news — and a sign that her internal polls are tanking as fast as the public ones.
What should he ask her?
Here’s a thought: This writer was fortunate enough to appear today with Sandra Smith and Leo Terrell on Fox’s America Reports. We discussed the fact that California’s much-heralded (at the time) crime reform bill Proposition 47 ushered in a period of urban decay for that state. Prop 47 included many soft-on-crime initiatives, copied around the nation — including downgrading many crimes from felonies to misdemeanors.
It was a disaster. Consider Oakland, Kamala Harris’s hometown, which has become all-but-unliveable. And San Francisco — where she was the District Attorney — which has become the national poster-child for urban decline.
Kamala helped do that. She wrote the ballot title for Prop 47 — giving it a misleading “tough on crime” veneer.
Additionally, with the opioid epidemic in full-swing, Kamala presided over closing down the California Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement — despite pleas from the agency’s officers for help. This while she was the state Attorney General — the top prosecutor in California.
This is all in-keeping with Kamala’s typical m.o. Her standard move is to sit on the sidelines, await the political winds… and then jump in when it’s expedient (just as she did in drumming up support for 2020’s "Freedom Fund”).
And lest we forget: Her turn as the “border czar” — a tenure during which she donated thousands to an open border group in Washington, D.C.
Kamala desperately wants to be seen as a “prosecutor.” But every cop knows this type of prosecutor. She wasn’t a prosecutor. She was a politician.
So: Back to her interview. On the air today, Leo Terrell made a great point: Since California voters are about to pass Proposition 36, which will essentially repeal the disastrous Proposition 47 she so championed, Brett could ask her:
“Madam Vice President Harris, do you support Proposition 36?”
Cue the uncomfortable cackle.
Kamala The Author?
Whatever Kamala’s achievements — or lack thereof — as a prosecutor, they may actually be more substantial than her achievements as a writer. Comes word now that major sections of Kamala’s 2010 crime-fighter opus, Smart on Crime, were plagiarized.
As per ace reporter Chris Rufo, the plagiarism is “comparable in severity to the plagiarism found in former Harvard president Claudine Gay's doctoral thesis.”
Here’s just one example (click the image for the link):
Oh MY.
Hilariously (and predictably), The New York Times attempts to ride to Kamala’s rescue, but is shut down by… CNN??
All we can say is, in light of her above-described record… and how completely blatant that plagiarism appears to be… is there anything authentic about this woman?
(A National Review writer answers with this: “Kamala Harris Is An Idiot”).
Don’t Trust DOJ? Can’t Imagine Why….
This week Chris weighs in with a look at why the nation’s faith in our justice system has waned so badly.
Sure, Eric Adams looks dirty on his indictment… but what about all these other — more obvious — cases? What made Eric Adams deserve special attention?
(Would you buy a used car from this man…?)
So what’s really going on here? If you didn’t trust DOJ before…. Click HERE for why you don’t distrust them enough.
True Crime Girl Returns
TCG last gave us the details on the unsolved (un-investigated?) Austin, Texas Lady Bird Lake deaths. This time, a case that is, if anything, even more unfathomable: the death of Ellen Greenberg.
How on earth could this POSSIBLY be ruled a suicide?
Somebody, somewhere, in the Philadelphia criminal justice system owes the Greenberg family a major apology. And a real investigation.
Click HERE for the full brief… and so be ready for when this case hits the news again (which it will, trust us).
OpsDesk Report: Interview With Former DEA Boss Derek Maltz
This week on the OpsDesk Report we spoke to Derek Maltz, former Special Agent-In-Charge of DEA’s Special Operations Unit. It was Derek who supervised the investigation and takedown of the Russian “Merchant of Death” Viktor Bout — a great case accomplished against great odds. Here’s a preview:
Derek gives the details of how his unit went from a case involving a money launderer south of America’s border to a sting in Thailand of the world’s biggest arms dealer.
You’ll also hear how Bout tried to buy his way out of jail… and how ultimately, that might be what happened anyway, when the Biden administration handed him over.
Not that that backfired or anything…. (via WSJ):

Tren de Aragua Update
Hilarious video of the month/year/century: ABC “reporter” Martha Raddatz attempts to school JD Vance on whether TdA is really a threat. Vance’s retort: “Do you hear yourself?” should be required listening at the Columbia School of Propaganda Journalism.
If you haven’t seen it, you must — it is newsworthy in its own right. Here is is, via Sky News Australia (yes, they cover our stories better than our mainstreams do):
Ouch. That’ll leave a reputational mark.
Meantime, here is one of those “handful of problems” that Raddatz so emphatically dismisses… beaten to pulp in Aurora by TdA. The management company that owns one of the complexes posted this to X, to show (a) their manager beaten bloody, and (b) video of the attack (click below for the link — the video plays).
Ahhh… So that’s what a “handful of problems” looks like! Thanks, Ms. Raddatz (oh, and also Governor Polis). Someone tell that manager, hey, walk it off.
Meanwhile, here in New York… migrant kids too young to prosecute have been weaponized in the prime tourist areas…. And NYPD admits to being helpless (via The NY Post):
Hey, it’s only a handful of cities going down the tubes… like New York, Chicago, Aurora, San Francisco, Seattle, Oakland, Memphis, Portland….
Meanwhile, Portland Hits Peak Progressive
And speaking of The City of Roses…Via Politico (click the headline for the link):
Since Portland has taken liberal “criminal justice reform” to its ultimate end, and is now throwing out the entire thing due to the disasters its caused: Shouldn’t this sort of end the argument?
And finally…

Inarguable.
Stay safe, all!
Nice summary today…
