Ops Desk Sunday Report: Get Fauci Under Oath NOW
The CIA’s assessment that COVID came from a lab is just one more reason
As we’ve all heard by now, in the last 15 minutes of his presidency, Joe Biden pardoned his family and Anthony Fauci. But as we covered in last week’s podcast, they are unquestionably not off the hook for any potential investigations.
And now the CIA releases their report, assessing that COVID likely came from a lab.
So what should we do?
Investigate Fauci — for real, this time.
Not that there’s any reason to. After all, COVID was only the plague of the 21st Century, responsible for an incalculable global impact on life and property. And yet there is still no clear answer to the virus’s origins — despite there being enough facts to at least start a real investigation.
(“I am science!” he stated modestly)
But… wasn’t Fauci pardoned by Biden? From any federal criminal charges, going back to 2014?
Yes. But that does NOT protect Fauci from being forced under oath to testify — in either a congressional or a criminal investigation. Here’s how it would go:
First, subpoena Fauci into giving testimony. Let’s say it’s the Senate, under the auspices of Senator Rand Paul. If Fauci won’t come, he’s in contempt — which amnesty does not cover. He could then be jailed until he complies.
Once he’s in Congress, question him under oath. And here’s the rub: because he’s been pardoned, he cannot take the Fifth — he has to answer. Because recall, he has been pardoned — there’s no risk of self-incrimination.
If he doesn’t? Again — contempt charges. And this time, unlike under the Biden administration, those contempt charges will be enforced, because the DOJ is now under Trump.
Same, by the way, goes if Fauci demonstrably lies: he can be charged with perjury. These would be new crimes that the pardon does not cover.
Now, Fauci could sit there like a stone and say, “I don’t recall.” This would demonstrate for all the world how much he has to hide — and should only increase the demand he tells us what he knows.
After denying that there was ANY U.S. involvement in overseas gain of function research, the Fauci defenders out there have all circled the wagons around the idea that, well, I guess there was gain of function — but it did not fund COVID.
At this point, after all the obfuscation and outright lies of the last administration (“I never spoke to my son about his business”), we cannot accept that.
And if that defense is in fact true, it begs the further question as to why we were funding any overseas research into weaponizing viruses. Especially after the U.S. stopped doing that research here in… yup, 2014.
The year the pardon went back to. What a coincidence!
This is a matter of global import — and something we need answers to. Start with Fauci, and do a real investigation, under oath, this time with a DOJ that will actually enforce against any obfuscation.
The world deserves these answers. Not in order to imprison Fauci — at this point, he’s small potatoes.
But to ensure it never happens again.
It’s On! And Don’t Trust The Media To Report It
Say what you want about Donald Trump — from the J6 pardons to Greenland to immigration enforcement, the man does what he promises.
The Trump administration has set up a special Office of Sanctuary Cities Enforcement, and deputized thousands of BOP, ATF, DHS, and other federal agents to enable them to participate in immigration enforcement. Like I said: it’s on.
So after hitting Boston and New York earlier in the week, at this writing, ICE teams are carrying out raids nationwide, including in sanctuary California. ICE expects to take so many into custody in the L.A. area, they’re scouting for more room to erect detention facilities (they could always take over Newsom’s presidential campaign headquarters… that won’t be seeing much use).
Those arrested so far included murderers, rapists, child traffickers, MS-13 and Tren de Aragua members… you know. The people the Dems have been inviting in and protecting for four years.
As ICE carried out their current “the worst first” enforcement this week, the story began to proliferate online that ICE agents had raided an elementary school there. Cue the predictable outrage and media pile-on — as well as an outraged post from no-less than Illinois Governor JB Pritzker.
Only one problem — it was entirely false.
Turns out, it was the Secret Service at the school — investigating a threat:
Even Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson felt compelled to upbraid the Governor, stating that, “it is imperative that individuals not spread unverified information that sparks fear across the city.” When you’ve lost Brandon Johnson….
At this writing: no revocations or apologies issued.
This is just a sign of things to come. The left wants Trump’s immigration crackdown to fail so badly, they’ve already got the stories written.
So brace yourself for what will certainly be images of “peaceful migrants” in handcuffs being marched onto transport planes, all of it framed as “human rights abuse.” AOC can’t wait to start tearing up.
Don’t trust them. You’re better off getting your updates here.
A Modest Proposal
Truth is, the Dems, as usual, will moan, cry, rend their garments… but offer no reasonable measures to reform our immigration enforcement that doesn’t amount to a mass amnesty.
If, say, John Fetterman came forward to President Trump next week with a plan that ensured criminals are deported, but that a limited number of illegals who are working here, paying taxes, and have verified sponsors for jobs: the Dems could begin to gain some traction on the issue. The Trump admin might even welcome the idea, as it would take significant weight off the limited resources of ICE.
Don’t hold your breath. That would require someone on the left to stop whining about living under “fascism.”
And they wonder why they’re losing ground with almost every demographic.
As Someone That Worked In Government…
I’d say you should follow this X account, too.
Trust me — this DOGE thing is a good idea. One-percent of federal office employees showing up for work? Thousands of empty government buildings?
I once had a case that brought me down to the federal Treasury building in Washington. It’s a huge, beautiful building, with a dome and endless corridors.
Myself and an associate wandered the building for 20 minutes looking for our meeting (which we finally found, at the end of a long hall). The point: this enormous building was essentially empty.
And note: this was before COVID.
So when you’re told that Trump’s firing or transferring of dozens of inspector generals from various units of the federal government, remember the above numbers: 1% of office workers. Thousands of buildings unused or underused.
Great job, inspectors.
On Our Radar
A strange and tragic story that has not gained much footing yet, but we have questions: the killing of a CBP agent in Vermont.
The story was initially reported as the murder of a law enforcement agent during a car stop; nothing more to see here. But then new details began to emerge.
According to follow-up reporting, the shooter was a woman named Teresa Youngblut who entered from Canada, accompanied by a German national. The two “had been under surveillance” because a motel worker had spotted them with a gun.
Further: they were wearing “tactical gear.” Huh?
Who was surveilling them? Was this poor CBP officer aware of these circumstances? Why, if police were so concerned about them that they were being surveiled, was a tactical car stop not performed, with plenty of officers?
Who is this German national — here illegally as an overstay, by the way — who was also killed during the event? Who is this Teresa Youngblut, the Washington State woman arrested in the shooting?
Why did they have body armor in the car? Cell phones wrapped in foil? Two-way radios? Ballistic helmets, night-vision goggles, respirators, and more ammunition?
We are going to try to get some clarity on this. Something is missing here.
(Update: There is some reporting that the two perps were either trans, or activists aligned with a trans cult; we cannot confirm at this time).
Idaho Update
After a change of venue and what feels like interminable delays, the case of four murdered college kids in Moscow, Idaho, may finally be moving forward. The new judge seems like he’s had about enough of the defense raising issues that are known to be well-settled under case law.
Here’s the latest, from our friend at foxnews.com, crime reporter Mike Ruiz:
(click the headline for the piece. Full disclosure: this writer is quoted)
We understand it’s a death penalty case. We get that it’s been highly publicized. But it’s time to move this damn thing forward.
(Accused Idaho killer Bryan Kohberger — potentially facing a firing squad)
Sunday Podcast: Celebrity Burglaries, NYPD Blues
This week, Paul and Chris come with a quick update on the burglaries hitting major sports figures around the country. Chris updates us on the arrests of — you guessed it — a migrant crew operating from south-of-the-border.
But is that the end of the case? In light of the fact that another prominent NFL player just got hit… we doubt it.
Plus: the Great NYPD Overtime Scandal. How bad will it get?
Will there be a special commission formed? Will it take the Mayor down? Or will Donald Trump throw him a lifeline pardon — as the Mayor is so clearly campaigning for?
With the New York Democratic primary for mayor in just a few months… it’s all coming to a head.
