Say It Ain't So, Joe!

But can we really blame Biden for his shambolic exit?

What to make of President Biden as he fades from the scene? Is he simply sticking it to a nation that he feels rejected him?

Or is he making none of the calls, and sleeping in — as the radicals run the show?

And isn’t it disturbing to have to even ASK that question?

And even more disturbing that most of the media is not asking it?

As you may have heard, last week the story broke that steel previously intended to construct the southern border wall was up for auction on the website of a firm that buys and sells government surplus.

Now the story is a bit more complicated than the Biden administration simply auctioning off the steel so that Donald Trump can’t get his hands on it. According to this report, the steel was in the hands of the Department of Defense, who offered it to federal agencies and to various southern states. Texas, Arizona, and U.S. Border Patrol took about 60% of it. The remainder went to the private firm, which was set to auction it off (the offerings have apparently been pulled down; the status of the sale remains unclear).

The problem here is that all this happened mere months ago. Was there NO consideration that Donald Trump might win? And that the steel would then be put to its intended use?

Was that so unthinkable to our federal bureaucrats? For a government that spends nearly $7 trillion a year? (On less than $5 trillion in revenue, by the way).

Who the hell approved this? Was the White House aware? Especially when you consider that CBP estimates that it costs about $6.5 million to build each mile of the border wall?

And one has to wonder if the steel truly was offered to the southern border states — when those same states are now talking on bidding on the steel to get it back in the hands of the U.S. taxpayers.

Why does it feel like the taxpayers always get screwed in these things? Musk and Vivek’s Department of Government Efficiency can’t come fast enough.

Then there’s Biden’s pardon-palooza. Look, we all knew the Hunter pardon was coming, no matter what (that said, one rarely sees a politician lie so shamelessly).

But did Joe really think it was a great idea to commute the sentence of a judge who shipped kids to a detention facility in return for kickbacks? In Joe’s old hometown, no less (say it ain’t so, Scranton Joe!).

The criminal justice system, as this space has often noted, is only as good as the people administering it; constitutions and penal codes mean nothing if the people in charge are no good. And no role is more powerful or crucial than a criminal court judge. And this one, Michael Conahan, was essentially selling kids for cash. Over 4,000 cases had to subsequently be tossed thanks to this dirty judge.

The case was so egregious, there was even a documentary made on it. Here’s the trailer:

There were other crazy commutations, including of a woman guilty of embezzling $54 million from the small town of Dixon, Illinois. It was believed to be the largest municipal fraud in U.S. history at the time.

Thanks Joe. I guess it’s go big or go home, huh?

Well, I know I speak for a majority of the electorate when I say: go home already. Before you do any more damage.

That is, if it’s actually you who’s running things.

The Inspector General’s Report on January 6th

So the long-awaited Office of the Inspector General report on DOJ’s actions leading up to, during, and after the infamous events of January 6th just dropped — and yes, there are major revelations.

We have to say upfront: NOBODY in this space is justifying raiding the U.S. Capitol. Full stop. You do that, you go to jail.

That said: We have not been told the whole story. Even this report doesn’t feel like the whole story.

But did you know that General Milley played a major role in the lack of security? That DOJ had 26 informants in the crowd — but claim they only directed four of them?

And that none of these informants apparently warned of what was to occur? (Funny — I thought that’s what informants were for).

And have you seen the astounding — and strangely, little-known — footage of Nancy Pelosi owning up to her role?

If it all sounds pretty amazing… it is.

Droning On

It looks like the federal government is finally taking an interest in the whole drone scare, and at least throwing us a head-fake on looking into it. But in addition to the fact that we kinda sorta may be under invasion, what the feds are not getting is that the story isn’t just about drones — it’s about governmental bs.

Let’s tick-off some of our faves, shall we?

• COVID came from bat soup in a Wuhan wet market

• The laptop is a Russian op

• Donald Trump is a Russian asset

• Joe Biden is cognitively fine

So when John Kirby comes out and tells us there are no drones… well….

And by the way: A good friend in Staten Island who is pretty apolitical and anything but alarmist tells this writer that he saw them pass over his house recently. His main takeaway?

“Man, they were really loud.”

Trump Triumphant

Has anyone ever had a better month than Donald Trump?

He executes perhaps the biggest political comeback in American history, winning even the popular vote and pretty much taking every card away from the left. His hated nemesis, the mainstream media, quite literally may never recover (wouldn’t that be a shame).

Then he goes on a mini-European tour, where he’s essentially greeted as if he’s the current president. Even Jill Biden seemed to be won over (awwk-waaard…).

Then another Trump nemesis, Alvin Bragg, loses yet another signature case, this one the ludicrous political exercise executed on Daniel Penny.

Now comes word that Trump lawsuit against ABC and George Stephanopoulos has been settled in his favor, with ABC being forced to apologize, pay $15 million to the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library fund, and $1 million for Trump’s lawyers fees.

(Why is this man smiling? Take your pick….)

Trump spiked the ball by taking Penny to the Army-Navy football game on Saturday, where he was greeted with cheers by a military he will soon control — and which he vows to not only return to maximum lethality, but which he also vows not to waste on any foreign adventures (Trump’s reflexive response to the fall of the Syrian regime: “Stay out of it.” This is Trump at his best).

Any successful person will tell you, the key to true achievement is persistence. Nobody has ever had it like this guy.

If he plays to his better angels, avoids vendettas, and stays focused, he has the potential to be the most transformative president in our lifetimes.

And my lifetime includes Ronald Reagan.
