So Monday will see the beginning of Michael “The Fixer” Cohen’s testimony in Alvin Bragg’s “election fraud” case. Will Cohen damage Trump enough for a unanimous verdict?
Here’s a quick video on what to expect:
Personally, I think the chances of a hung jury have only increased. If I HAD to bet, I would bet on a conviction, due to the makeup of the jury pool (Manhattanites). But so far, no actual crime has been shown.
In fact, in light of the fact that NDA’s are legal, and so is reimbursing your lawyer: I would argue that no crime has really been alleged.
But if you watch the video… you’ll see why the left HAS to have a conviction here. On felony charges.
(I actually think the main way Cohen, above, damages Trump is that people will be asking themselves: Trump hired this guy?
Steve Buscemi For Mayor
So actor Steve Buscemi, a New York native, gets crullered in midtown by some rando, just because. Making Buscemi the second member of Boardwalk Empire (a good show, btw), to have been randomly attacked in NYC recently.
Which should tell you something about the randomness of violence and the atmosphere of menace here on NYC’s streets
Meanwhile, here’s the Mediaite platform reporting on my characterization of the city having “an air of menace," as if that is some kind of outlier revelation.
Sorry, Mediaite — it is not. And also sorry — but I didn’t solely credit TikTok for “waking people up.” Nice try. But I do credit social media writ large for demonstrating how bad things are in our cities. I certainly don’t credit the legacy media, which died decades ago.
Meanwhile, as hostile goblins populate every city block and we approach the summer crazy-from-the-heat season, here’s our mayor:
(from Newsweek — click the image for the article)
Here’s Mayor Adams attempting to get out ahead of what he has to know will be New Yorkers calling bullsh*t for this blatant waste of money:
He’s heading to Italy to get some ideas on solving climate change. Right.
Can’t wait for Adams and his entourage to take a fact-finding mission to Cancun. To study beach erosion.
El Salvador Election Is Bad News For MS-13
I have never been to El Salvador, despite having traveled to Central America many times. But if the apoplectic reaction of the mainstream press to President Nayib Bukele’s landslide re-election is any indication… El Salvador is doing something right.
Bukele began his presidential career in 2019 as a third party populist, breaking ranks with his former (leftist) party. He has since morphed into a law-and-order conservative whose draconian enforcement against Salvadoran gangs has made El Salvador — literally — the safest nation in Latin America.
When Bukele took office, the homicide rate in El Salvador was 38 out of 100,000. It is now 2.4 per 100,000. In all of the Americas, only Canada is lower. And they have hockey.
Bukele has (of course!) been criticized by the global left for shutting down dissent and violating due process — charges which he denies. Should I care?
Not really — I don’t live there, and I’m not so self-important as to think that I should be setting policy for other sovereign nations.
But what I do know is this: Salvadorans no longer have to flee their country to come to ours. And tens of thousands of MS-13 members that were running, and ruining, that nation are now locked up in El Salvador’s Terrorist Confinement Center.
Which also means: they’re not coming here.
Funny — haven’t we been told that enforcement doesn’t work? Shouldn’t Bukele’s strategies be failing because he’s not concentrating on “root causes”?
By the way, here’s an aspect of the Bukele narrative the leftist media won’t mention as they excoriate him: ethnically, he is Palestinian on his father’s side.
Podcast: He Wrote The Book On Soros… Literally!
For those with access, please join Paul, Chris, and Eric over at this week’s podcast for a fascinating conversation with Matt Palumbo, whose book is the last word on George Soros:
What drives a hyper-left, anti-capitalist billionaire whose governing principle appears to be, “create chaos”?
Matt comes closer than anyone to assessing Soros… and where his empire is likely going under budding scion, Alex.
If you sorta kinda like America as it is… you know, not marxist… you need to hear this.
Campus Protests Continue…
And Michael Ramirez sums them up (which I love — saves me typing):
The whole university system needs an enema.
And it’s coming. The costs are unsustainable, and people are starting to catch on. The change has, in fact, begun.
And good riddance to the whole rotten, anti-American bunch.
And finally…
My only problem with The Babylon Bee is that they keep coming up with stuff I wish I’d written myself:
Who says conservatives don’t have a sense of humor?
The Bee is consistently hilarious.
