The Sunday Ops Report
Comey in the crosshairs?; dental politics; Not exactly "art for art's sake";
Well, we’ve had a day, what with the terrible story out of Boulder…. At this writing, it looks like the threat is over, and now the backwards scrub begins. Alas, it looks much like the usual idiocy… fortunately, no fatalities at this time… we’ll have more on it this week.
Now, to business.
Chris starts us off with a take on James Comey’s true motivations….
Comey Beclowns Himself Again
James Comey is continuing to prove himself to be a self-promoting political hack.
As we’ve all heard by now, the shameless former FBI Director posted a controversial photo of seashells on a beach that spelled out “86 47.” Comey claimed that he randomly came upon the display and posted it on Instagram because, “it seemed like a cool picture.” He also claimed not to know the meaning of the “86” until his wife explained it to him.
This moronic post got his desired result. Likely at the behest of President Trump, the Secret Service took a case on the Instagram post as a threat to the President, and interviewed Comey. This was a mistake. Comey’s post is not an explicit threat, and even if it was, Comey is an attorney and would never make an incriminating statement.
Comey pointed out that only a crazy person would take the shell-born message as a threat. We guess he hasn’t been paying attention to political violence of late. If you recall, President Trump was almost killed by a crazy person – twice.
But this was a calculated move by Comey. The posting was coordinated perfectly with the release of his new novel. Comey’s shell game gave him the perfect launchpad for a media tour to promote his new book. And naturally the book is about, “a threat building in (New York) City, with far right extremism powered by internet demagogues and funded by shadowy organizations” (because as we all know, NYC is a hotbed of right-wing extremism.)
This, as calculated by Comey, is perfect fodder for left-wing media and talk shows. Despite claiming to be “actually trying to withdraw a little bit,” Comey once again answered the call of public service and appeared on any show that would have him.
On his whirlwind “withdraw a bit” tour, Comey made a series of comical statements that just proved his lack of self-awareness, hypocrisy, and giant ego.
He appeared on CNN to state that he is concerned about loud angry violent voices in our society today – perhaps forgetting about the veiled threat to the President in his shell shenanigans.
He went on MSNBC and decried the current Director of the FBI, Kash Patel, as having “absolutely no qualifications” for the post – perhaps forgetting that Patel served as a US Attorney just like Comey himself did.
During an MSNBC appearance he stated that he was concerned about the Trump administration impeding the right to freedom of speech – perhaps forgetting that his own agency was strong-arming social media sites to restrict everyday Americans’ freedom of speech.
During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he complained about the firing of former FBI Director Christopher Wray. He stated that the appointment is a 10-year term because the American people do not want the FBI Director to be a political position – perhaps forgetting that he has been the most politically outspoken and partisan Director in FBI history.
To further prove his hypocrisy, Comey took to Jen Psaki’s show to call one of the two political parties, “white supremist adjacent at a minimum” – perhaps forgetting that he claimed to be a Republican until the Trump election. He also didn’t seem to realize that he just slapped the racist tag on the majority of the American electorate that gave Donald Trump the popular vote and every swing state.
It would be nice if this law enforcement failure bowed out gracefully, but we doubt that is going to happen. As with many Democrats who fall afoul of the law, Comey received some very nice book deals.
I’m sure we’ll be hearing from him again when his next tome is about to hit the shelves. No doubt it will involve rogue fascists in Washington targeting a retired fed who dares to “speak truth to power.”
And Comey May Have Other Concerns
While he’s conducting his whirlwind book tour, Comey may also find himself in the legal crosshairs, as revelations continue to emerge from within the Bureau that are both damning and unsettling.
The two top officials in the FBI, Director Kash Patel and Assistant Director Dan Bongino, have recently gone public with what they’re uncovering. Now, these two have given very few public interviews. So when they do, it’s worth paying attention.
And according to them, some of what they are uncovering isn’t just bad—it "shocks the conscience."
Dan Bongino, the former Secret Service agent turned FBI executive, stated recently that Comey’s leadership of the FBI, “brought shame to the FBI badge.” He also revealed discovery of a room within the FBI containing materials from Comey's time that had not been properly cataloged. Bongino described the room as "hidden from us" and indicated efforts are underway to declassify the contents.
Bongino suggested that the materials, which he has said will “shock” readers, were not processed through standard procedures and were found in bags, implying a lack of transparency during Comey's leadership.
If any of that material should have been disclosed as part of Congressional oversight… that’s trouble for Comey.
Kash Patel isn’t much gentler on Comey:
Do you know how many agents I’ve had to take offline from chasing down child sex predators, fentanyl traffickers, terrorists because everywhere across this country, people are popping up on social media and think that a threat to the life of the president of the United States is a joke and they can do it because he did it?
Overally, Patel and Bongino’s scrutiny of Comey appears to center on how the FBI handled the Steele Dossier and the broader Trump-Russia investigation. A key figure in that scandal is Nellie Ohr, a contractor for Fusion GPS who supported the Steele Dossier while her husband, Bruce Ohr, worked at the DOJ.
Newly uncovered FBI records suggest that Nellie Ohr misled Congress. She claimed at the time to have played only a minor role in the dossier’s distribution, but internal documents surfacing now indicate she actively promoted it within government circles, worked on the dossier, and together with her husband Bruce, actually met with Christopher Steele.
And supervising it all was James Comey, who likely still has loyalists inside the Bureau.
The idea that Comey still has inside contacts raises concerns about ongoing bias and leaks. Will Comey loyalists look to undermine the reforms the new leadership wants? And that the FBI needs?
And is it not possible — even likely — that Comey loyalists warned him of impending legal peril? And that his seashell stunt was an effort to frame any upcoming legal trouble for him as Trump-administration retaliation? (Much as Letitia James is doing now…).
While the media obsesses over shell art, those watching more closely should pay attention to what’s unfolding inside the FBI. The age of accountability may finally be arriving at the Hoover Building—and James Comey could be its first major test case.
Sunday Pod: A Discussion With NYPD “RAP Detective,” Derek Parker
So this week NYPD Detective First Grade Derek Parker (retired) breaks down what went on, what’s going on, and where it’s all going in the dramatic P. Diddy federal trial.
Derek was embedded for years, as a First Grade NYPD detective, in the rap world. He knew Diddy and all the players….
So will the feds be able to actually prove a RICO? Who has flipped? Are there witnesses who haven’t been called to testify?
Are there witnesses afraid to testify?
And… are there celebrities out there worried about getting caught up in this case? (Take a guess…).
Derek also brings his detective skills and experience to the discussion, analyzing the strength of the case. Will they really get P. Diddy on a RICO charge? On sex trafficking?

Of Deportees And Dentists
Only a New York City Councilperson can make headlines this dumb. Former Manhattan Borough President and current City Councilperson for the Upper West Side, Gale Brewer is demanding dental care for the wave of illegal immigrants who flooded New York City over the past few years.
Most estimates put that number around 250,000.
We are sure that the wealthy limousine liberal has the best intentions. She seems like a very nice person. She claims to have doled out between $8,000 and $10,000 for immigrants to get dental care. She and her husband have also fostered 35 children in her four-story Upper West Side townhouse.
But she doesn’t seem to understand economics or tax burdens very well. Much like Public Advocate and known freeloader Jumaane Williams, Ms. Brewer has also failed to pay her mortgage for years. She also wanted to provide farm-to-table meals for the prisoners at Riker’s Island, surely having no idea how much that would cost law-abiding New Yorkers.
Now, she has taken up the cause of dental care for illegal immigrants. Once again, the cost to taxpayers is irrelevant. Perhaps she can ask her constituents to volunteer their own time and money to fund her philanthropic whims? We are sure there are plenty of dentists on the Upper West Side who would hate to see less well-off taxpayers footing the bill for Tren de Aragua members.
We are also sure that plenty of legal immigrants and everyday Americans would appreciate a little free dental care themselves. But as usual with anything “free” coming from the left… we just can’t afford it.
An Artful DOGER
So, the director of the Art Institute of Chicago, James Rondeau, recently took “in-flight entertainment” to a whole new level—by drunkenly stripping naked mid-air on a transatlantic flight to Munich. Yes, he dropped trou’ at 30,000 feet.
Rondeau blamed the mix of alcohol and prescription meds, and after a brief leave of absence, he’s waltzing right back into his corner office—with his $1 million-plus salary intact.
Now, here’s the part that matters: the Art Institute of Chicago isn’t just some private art lover’s playground. It receives significant government funding—federal, state, and local. That means public money—your tax dollars—help keep the lights on and the Monet polished. Which makes the whole “seven-figure salary and airborne strip show” vibe a bit hard to justify.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration has been swinging the axe on arts funding, cutting $175 million in National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) grants. Cue the collective gasp from NPR tote bag owners everywhere. As usual with any government cuts, the liberal media goesinto full meltdown mode—how dare they cut support for the arts! Civilization is ending!
But maybe this story is part of why: when taxpayers are helping fund institutions that think it’s perfectly normal to pay a museum exec over a million bucks….
This story isn’t about canceling museums or defunding culture—it’s about accountability. When you’re getting public dollars, there’s a reasonable expectation that those dollars go toward, say, educational programs or community outreach—not a C-suite salary that could fund a whole wing of art education for schoolkids.
So sure, keep the museum open. Keep the Picassos and the Monets. But maybe next time there’s a budget crisis or a grant gets pulled, the arts world should look inward—at the guy boarding first class in Gucci loafers with a $1 million paycheck and a history of midair streaking—and ask: Is this really where our money should go?
Make the DOGE program permanent.
And finally….
Hats off to the Boulder PD cops who ran at this incident awful incident out there. Just as we saw in New Orleans, it’s almost always the patrol cops who run towards the danger, are first on the scene, and mitigate the threat.
And then are quickly forgotten.
But it’s often a job much less-than-glamorous….
