Weekend Ops Report
The largest homicide in history; Joe Biden is not the first; Crypto's where the crime is
Someplace in China, there is a person. That person wears a white lab coat and is likely unassuming and underpaid. He (or she) works for China’s government, and is happy to have a solid government gig in a nation where the wealth disparity is notorious. He probably has a family, maybe a car, and overall, a modest lifestyle.
He’s also likely the worst mass murderer in human history.
Oh — and he may have co-conspirators here in America.
COVID-19 was a global catastrophe, and not just because of the virus itself. The way it was handled—by governments, corporations, and health bureaucracies—may go down as one of the most colossal failures of responsibility in modern history.
Just how deadly was it? The official worldwide COVID death toll sits at around seven million. But if you go by excess mortality—basically, the number of deaths above what’s expected—it could be closer to 18 million. That’s three times the official number, according to a study published in the widely respected medical journal, The Lancet.
All because our notional Wuhan lab tech allowed an experimental gain-of-function virus to escape from his lab (or worse, brought the thing home with him for some reason).
Now imagine — seriously, take a moment and imagine — the global cacophony that would result if America had unleashed a virus on the world that killed 18 million people, and sickened so many millions more. Never mind the trillions in economic losses.
Which brings us to a question no one seems to want to ask: What if a sizeable portion of those COVID fatalities didn’t have to happen?
What if some of the world’s most powerful people either looked the other way—or worse, made political calculations while lives were on the line?
Pfizer… and Some Disturbing Emails
Last week, the House Judiciary Committee dropped a quiet bombshell: senior Pfizer executives may have intentionally delayed releasing clinical trial data for their COVID vaccine until after the 2020 U.S. presidential election. Yes, really.
According to the Committee’s press release, Dr. Philip Dormitzer—then head of vaccines research at Pfizer—told colleagues that the timing of Pfizer’s big vaccine data drop in November 2020 was “not a coincidence.” He reportedly even said that he wanted to flee to Canada if Trump won reelection and launched an investigation.
Nothing to see here, right?
Now remember: Pfizer’s vaccine trial data was finalized by October 2020, but it wasn’t released to the public until after the election. Why? That’s the trillion-dollar question. Especially considering that access to a working vaccine was considered a game-changer during the pandemic.
Pfizer denies wrongdoing, of course, saying the timing was based on science and regulatory review. But the House Judiciary Committee has requested documents and scheduled interviews, and this one isn’t going away.
But Wait—There’s More
Meanwhile, over in the Senate, a separate report suggests that Biden administration officials delayed public warnings about the risk of myocarditis (heart inflammation) from mRNA vaccines—especially in young people. Internal data reportedly showed elevated risks, but that info didn’t reach the public until much later.
So let’s put this piece in perspective: While government officials and pharma execs debated messaging, parents were unknowingly getting their kids vaccinated without all the facts.
That’s not just shady—it’s reckless. You know — the standard for manslaughter.
A Failure of Honesty at Every Level
Between potential data suppression, politically motivated vaccine timelines, and zealots forcing us all to stay inside for months, it’s hard to escape the feeling that we weren’t just misled—we were manipulated.
And now, after millions of deaths and global upheaval, we’re starting to see the pieces come together. The pandemic wasn’t just a health crisis. It was a credibility crisis, too. Politicians and corporations made high-stakes decisions behind closed doors, based on metrics that seemed to have benefitted them — and the public paid the price.
So Where’s the Accountability?
That’s the million—or maybe billion—dollar question. Will anyone at Pfizer face consequences if these allegations are confirmed? Will any Biden administration officials be held to account for withholding safety information?
Congressional hearings are a start, and they look to be happening. Subpoenas, document dumps, and testimonies can shine a light where it’s desperately needed.
But we shouldn’t stop there. If this was, in effect, a coordinated act of negligence—or worse, conspiracy—then someone needs to go to jail.
We can’t get to the Wuhan tech (if he’s even still alive, which would be “inconvenient” for the Chinese government). But those who used the pandemic for their own ends here? Those people we can reach.
Yes, COVID was a tragedy. But if what we’re learning now is true, it wasn’t just a natural disaster—it was a man-made disaster, too. One potentially shaped by politics and corporate self-interest, and resulting in reckless or negligent behavior that led to the death of another.
Which is the basic formula for manslaughter.
An irresponsible, sloppy lab tech in Wuhan… pharmaceutical execs who may have played games with releasing vaccines… government officials who covered up the risks of those vaccines… 18 million people dead across the world.
Literally, a global crime scene. Isn’t this sort of the biggest story of our time? Bigger than whoever the Kardashians are dating?
It may yet still prove to be, if these hearings go the way they could.
We have a feeling there’s a LOT more to come on this one. Stay tuned.
Joe Biden: Continuing a “Proud” Tradition
The health of the former President of the United States has become a major issue. Joe Biden’s cancer diagnosis and the press’s belated acknowledgment of his mental decline have finally made headlines. But the signs were always there—intentionally obscured by people in government and the media. And even the new cancer diagnosis remains murky. It all smells like a coverup.
But shaky presidential health and a compliant media is an old song in this country. And — surprise! — it’s always sung on the left.
Historically, several presidents have had serious illnesses or cognitive issues hidden from the public—and every instance involved a Democrat. Some point to Ronald Reagan’s Alzheimer’s, but doctors say his symptoms didn’t appear until 1993, years after he left office. He publicly (and courageously) disclosed the diagnosis in 1994.
In contrast, at least five Democrat presidents had significant health problems deliberately concealed, often with help from a willing press.
One early example: President Grover Cleveland. In 1893, during a severe economic depression, Cleveland secretly underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his mouth. It was done aboard a yacht, under the pretense of a vacation. The cover-up was so thorough the truth didn’t come out for years.
Then there was Woodrow Wilson. In 1919, while in office, he suffered a massive stroke that left him paralyzed and mentally disabled. His wife, Edith, and a small circle of aides—including White House doctor Cary Grayson—hid his condition. Edith essentially acted as president, controlling information flow and access to the president (sound familiar?). The media, enamored with Wilson, parroted the “nervous exhaustion” excuse while the country debated the League of Nations.
Franklin D. Roosevelt's health was also concealed. His paralysis from polio was well-known, but less known was his late-stage congestive heart failure during World War II. By his fourth term, he looked near death—but the press, seeing him regularly, shielded the public from the truth. Roosevelt was the first media-savvy president, and the press adored him — and covered for him.
John F. Kennedy, often portrayed as youthful and vigorous, suffered from Addison’s disease, chronic pain, and drug dependency. He relied on a cocktail of medications, including amphetamines. But the press upheld the Camelot myth, ignoring the reality of his health—and behavior.
Even so, none of these coverups compare to the media’s treatment of Joe Biden. In past eras, limited media made it easier to fabricate excuses. But Biden’s condition has been plainly visible. Though Dr. Jill Biden and staff limited his exposure, today’s 24/7 media couldn’t fully hide it. So they turned to something more brazen: denying reality itself. In a campaign worthy of their “mostly peaceful” 2020 protest coverage, they insisted everything was fine. And shockingly, many believed it.
There’s another key difference: Cleveland’s cancer, Wilson’s stroke, Roosevelt’s heart failure, and Kennedy’s drug use were not fully known before they assumed office. But with Biden, it appears the Democrat establishment and media were well-aware of his cognitive issues before he became the nominee.
It may even be because of his decline that they rallied around him—rigging the primaries to ensure his selection. The constant “lids” and Biden Basement strategy were red flags. And the media cheered the installation of a mentally unfit president.
The public has a right to know whether their leaders can carry out the duties of the office. Hiding a president’s health crisis creates confusion, undermines democracy, and endangers national security.
We need a full accounting. Who knew? Who helped cover it up—in the media, the government, and the Democratic Party? This should go beyond political grandstanding. If laws were broken, the DOJ should act. It’s that serious — perhaps the worst presidential scandal in our history.
The American people deserve honesty—from both their leaders and the press that claims to serve them. History shows that hiding presidential illness isn’t just deception—it’s a threat to the republic itself.
It seems the media decided it had to undermine democracy in order to “save” it. It can’t stand — so that we can ensure it doesn’t happen again.
Crypto And Crime: A Match Made In….
When you think of cryptocurrency crimes, violence is not the first thing that comes to mind. But the unique hurdles in tracing cryptocurrency make its account holders particularly vulnerable to violent robberies and kidnappings.
We saw this play out publicly in the headlines this week, when an Italian man was held captive in a Soho apartment and allegedly tortured for the passwords to his crypto accounts. The man—supposedly in New York for tourism and “language learning”—undoubtedly learned a few choice words as he was held for weeks and subjected to bizarre and severe torments.
His alleged captor? A crypto trader from Kentucky, who was reportedly trying to extract the passwords to gain access to the man’s digital wealth. Two co-conspirators are reportedly under arrest at this time as well.
There is certainly more to this wild tale, but it’s not the first time something like this has happened in New York City. The nature of cryptocurrencies makes them especially prone to these types of crimes. Once you have someone’s password, you can transfer the funds instantly to anywhere in the world. There are no bank “Know Your Customer” regulations. No holding period where funds can be clawed back. No court order to freeze an account. The money is gone with the push of a button.
That doesn’t mean it can’t be tracked. In fact, most cryptocurrencies are quite easy to trace. Transactions are often recorded on the blockchain, which is publicly accessible to anyone with the technical know-how. The challenge isn’t figuring out where the money went—it’s figuring out who has it. Crypto’s secret benefit is anonymization.
If you're using a commercially available account through Coinbase or any one of a number of registered crypto financial services, identifying the account holder is relatively easy. A subpoena or two, and an investigator can usually determine the owner.
But savvy cryptocurrency holders often take steps to build and maintain truly anonymous accounts. That means using dedicated computers unconnected to personal business, accessing accounts via the anonymizing TOR browser, converting crypto into cash through unlicensed money remitters, or relying on shady VPN location-hiding services. All of these techniques can help obscure the identity of the account owner.
Still, crypto perps—like any other criminals—often slip up. And law enforcement is getting better at solving these cases by the day. It’s not your typical investigation, but give a good NYPD detective a case, and chances are they’ll figure out how to crack it.
We’ll see more of these, going forward. (In fact, there is a documentary out on Netflix called, Biggest Heist Ever, which we’ll review for Weekend Buff soon).
Crypto, it seems, makes people act a little… strangely.
Hey, It’s Not Just New York (and Chicago, and St. Louis, and New Orleans, and Baltimore, and…)
So our blue cities have produced yet another outstanding public servant: Meet Brian K. Williams, former L.A. Deputy Mayor for Public Safety, who is reportedly about to admit to a felony for calling in a fake bomb threat.
Yup. The Deputy Mayor for Public Safety. Called in a fake report that a bomb had been placed in City Hall.
You read that correctly. No need to check your eyes.
The Deputy Mayor allegedly sent the email advisory to the Mayor herself, Karen Bass, and to other high-ranking government officials, claiming that the bomber was tired of the city’s support for the state of Israel. Israel sure seems to upset some people, doesn’t it? More and more?
In his email, Williams stated he had notified LAPD, who were conducting a search. Suspicions were aroused, however, when no such bomb was located, and investigation revealed that the call was made by Williams himself, using the Google Voice app on his personal phone.
We have to reiterate: this was The Deputy Mayor for Public Safety. And he used his personal phone to call in a fake bomb threat (allegedly!).
Now that’s a great investigator.
The FBI has the case, and Williams is scheduled to appear in L.A. federal court in the coming weeks on a charge of making an explosive threat. It carries up to ten years. Let’s see if anyone even covers it.
Here’s betting he never sees a jail cell.
And finally…
As the Democrats hold meetings in luxury hotels to try to figure out how to talk to those mysterious beings known as “men”… and their leaders’ approval rating hovers at a two-decade low of 25%… the message has clearly gone out for a new talking point:
Guess it’s better than looking behind you.
But really, the place they should be looking is: a mirror.
In regard to COVID, deaths are one way to keep score but there are others, such as funerals missed, acquaintances not made, vacations not taken, levels of stress and anxiety not needed.
Great job, Paul, as always.
