In regards to pardons, in https://jamescking.substack.com/p/november-6-2024, I covered a general family pardon but I did not consider Joe pardoning himself. Personally, I hope he does. We have wasted enough time prosecuting ex-presidents. Let's spend our time going after the assets purchased with the gains from bribery. After forfeiture, there might be an outstanding mansion available near Wilmington, Delaware. Just a thought to ponder...
After January 20th, there are a number of options available to establish a point: 8 USC Sect 1324 (Tom Homan's favorite); then there is 18 USC 2 (whoever aids abets, councils, ..., is punishable as a principal (not very often used); and finally 18 USC 3- Accessory after the fact ... to be punished with no more than 15 years imprisonment.
Yes, good point. That option has been there all along, but dutifully ignored. My main point here was to offer a legal solution that would also work legally, but probably should have invoked 1324 as an option. B/c think you're right -- we're going to see plenty of that statute come January.
Actually, some red state attorney general could probably find a state law that Hunter has broken and drop a case in the hopper, like they did to Trump in NY. That’d be fun to listen to the howls…
