Paul, I almost always appreciate your print and broadcast commentary, but this cartoon has me confused and a little worried. Is the point that “the Department” is so foolish as to reward the mere appearance of “wokeness” with a promotional advantage? Is the point that some cops are willing to sacrifice themselves on the altar of wokeness simply to get promoted? And is this really how we want those who actually do transition to view us as LEOs - that we consider a decision to be transgendered as something one does flippantly, in this case to just “get ahead?” That may not be the best message we can send.
