a healthy dose of opsdesk to start off the week. . . . . . gee whiz, look at that , all 4 ppl involved in the san antonio shooting r latino, , i guess i shud say i am GLAD about that ? u use the phrase rush to judgment, yes, that's putting it mildly. i actually saw a trial in albany county once where the decedent tried using a hammer on a defendant. defendant killed the assailant; he was charged and acquitted..... the defense atty. took the hammer and pounded it on the handrail of the jury box a few times in summation , and said this : DON'T LET THEM TELL U IT'S NOT A DEADLY WEAPON,,,JUST IMAGINE IF THIS HANDRAIL WAS YOUR HEAD. . . . . ( AND THEN ) pow ! pow ! pow ! . . . the loud reports reverbed thru the stone walled courtroom and the jurors almost jumped out of their seats . . it was effective . . LOUD . . SCARY . . and convincing . . . WHY NOT suspend the cops PENDENTE LITE, , send them down to traffic duty for a year and let's call it a day. CIVIL REMEDY ? . . . stipulate to liability w/ the fam. in civil court and TRY THE CASE FOR DAMAGES ONLY, , , lets not give the fam $ 20 mill for our poor lost hammer-momma, ......lets let a jury decide damages just like they do for any other decedent in the USA. . enough of this $ 20 mill per body "ben crump" ( PRE TRIAL SETTLEMENT > > > >EASY MONEY ) stuff. !
