Paul. Couldn’t agree more. I binged listened to the podcast! Having the actual “dirty” cops commenting and explaining how it got so bad was riveting. Internal Affairs took a big hit and rightfully so and once again, the Manhattan DA’s office did their consistent job and saying one thing and doing another. I’ve dealt with them 20 years and they NEVER EVER did anything we asked to help out investigations and that continued after Morgy was gone. Treacherous office! The Podcast is a 10
Basic requests from us that the Bronx would have no issues, Manhattan would fight us every time. Quick example! The SDNY had a program called Triggerlock and anyone with a felony conviction caught with a gun could be charged as felon in possession and some decent jail time would result. We knew Manhattan wouldn’t give us their gun arrests so we just asked for their cases that were misdemeanor, such as inoperable guns, unloaded guns etc. Under trigger lock it didn’t matter if the gun was unloaded or inoperable and the charge of felon in possession would stand and they would get substantial fed time. In my 20 years dealing with them they NEVER turned over a misdemeanor gun case to us so obviously it would plead out to no jail time and our opportunity to squeeze a potential gang member for serious jail time just went down the tubes. They supposedly have this reputation as the premier prosecutors office in the country. I never saw it, they wouldn’t give us snow in the winter

I feel that the office got worse after morgenthau left in that regard. They wanted to run cases on their own with no input from police.
